Join the Vigilante Group

Membership is open to law-abiding Nigerians of good character who wish to serve their community.

Membership

Service, not status.

Membership of the Vigilante Group is voluntary community service. It carries responsibility and scrutiny — it does not carry police powers, immunity, or authority over your neighbours.

We screen carefully and we reject applicants who do not meet the standard. That is deliberate. The single fastest way to destroy a community security organisation is to admit the wrong person, and the whole Group carries the cost of that mistake.

  • A written recommendation from your referee.

There is no fee to apply

Process

Five steps from application to deployment

1. Apply

Submit the form below, or collect a paper form from your ward unit or state command.

2. Community verification

Your referee is contacted and your standing in the community is confirmed with the ward head.

3. Screening

Character screening, including a police records check. This step takes the longest, and it is not shortened for anyone.

4. Training

The basic course: law and limits, use of force, observation and reporting, first aid, community relations.

5. Registration & posting

Photograph and registration number issued, identity card produced, and posting to a ward roster.

Then: annual refresher

Refresher training every year. A member who has not refreshed is stood down from patrol until they have.

Application

Expression of interest

This form registers your interest. It is not an offer of membership, and submitting it does not create any entitlement.

Ward head, traditional ruler, religious leader, or a member in good standing.

This form needs a destination

It currently validates and shows a message, but sends nothing anywhere. Pick one of the three options in README.md (Formspree, a Vercel serverless function, or a Google Form) before launch — otherwise applications will silently disappear.
